Where do baby birds grow up?

The first warming rays of sunshine are slowly waking up nature again. More and more bird calls can be heard in the forest around our camp. This makes the children curious. Some of the Casa children already know a little about birds and know that now is the time when the birds take care of their offspring. But how does that work exactly? Most children know that birds build nests and lay their eggs in them. But what material can nests be made of, what do the eggs look like, and when the baby birds have hatched, what happens next? Questions upon questions that need to be explored.

Using material that was available in the forest, numerous birds' nests were reconstructed and eggshells were placed inside. This way, all the children - even the youngest ones - could imagine what it looks like in a bird's nest.
