Our programme at the children's house

In the children's house, the two pillars of our pedagogy - nature pedagogy and Montessori pedagogy - are lived almost to equal parts.

Montessori Time

In the mornings, the structured Montessori environment provides nourishment for your child's mind and fine motor skills. The daily practical life exercises and work with the sensory materials encourage concentration, perseverance as well as independence and in this way indirectly prepare for the work with the language and math materials. The atmosphere is calm and peaceful.

Forest Time

Five days a week, regardless of the weather, the children spend the afternoon in the forest, in the outdoor area or at the castle. There they have the opportunity to play freely, to explore, to craft, build... The gross motor skills are trained, the urge to move is acted out, the fresh air strengthens the immune system.

Learning opportunities

In the mornings at the Casa as well as in the afternoons in the forest, we follow the children's learning interests: The educators offer each child suitable activities and materials based on their observations. If the child shows interest - for example in the sandpaper letters or counting with the spindle box - this work is continued; if not, it is repeated at a later time. Since many children show a great interest in letters and numbers at around 3-4 years of age, many children are already able to read by the time they enter school.

Seamless transition to school

The transition to school is seamless. Instead of a standard preschool program, the preschoolers can spend regular time at elementary school. There, on the one hand, they continue their work from the children's house, but are also involved in the presentations of the elementary school children. In this way, they become accustomed to the work processes at elementary school, get to know the older schoolchildren in the mixed-age class, and feel "at home" in their new learning environment by the time they officially start school.
