support for our Children's house

In 1906, Maria Montessori opened her first "Casa dei Bambini" in a working class neighborhood in Rome - a "house of children" where three to six year old children were cared for. This gave Montessori the opportunity to observe the children and prepare an environment suited to their developmental needs. Thus, she did not develop her theories at a desk, but rather through the close and empathetic observation of children - in practice. Very many of her discoveries are confirmed today by the current results of brain research.

On the following pages, we will introduce you to our everyday life in the children's house with its pedagogical focus.
